Handpainted Sarees in Gurgaon, Cotton Sarees in Gurgaon

As hands depicts stories through colours and imagery depictions the endless six meter saree,
is a drape that has seen different editions through the ravages of time,  with several appearances.
Be it cotton or silk the hand painted sarees have a crystal clear depiction of images, graphics and
colours. The only endless drape that has moved and seen in several civilizations among different generations,
has been loved by women beyond measure. The hostess at Bandini Sarees said that she wished to have
exclusives such as Handpainted Sarees  in Gurgaon since she was highly aware of how easily such skills
and craftsmanship dwindle and disappear altogether. Sometime in January a year back , my friends wished
to enroll themselves for a class in handpainted sarees after being told that the creative brain works on
both sides only after one constantly works for the love of passion. Extensive research followed and we
were told that Bandini Sarees had a greater collection of Handpainted Sarees in Gurgaon. Taking an appointment through a referral,
the professors teaching Indian studies and culture in the university of New York , reached Bandini Sarees
and it was by sheer chance and coincidence that we knew the faculty well .

So saying the hostess opened a box of surprises. Here were sarees from Kerala that had handpainted
Kathakali dances , some silks from that had handpainted pallus with  classical dances of Rajasthan,
handpainted sarees with the Garba dance of Gujarat and a kuchipudi dance handpainted saree.
Marking it as sheer classics and purely innovative my friends blocked it. Each Handpainted Saree in Gurgaon,
Bandini Sarees has a story to tell, be it a depiction of floral motif or a Chillim ,some sarees are laid on river
banks and  handpainted .Ka , was something that slipped during a conversation from one of my friends.
Helping her out immediately, the host unveiled Kalamkari Sarees and said that the Handpainted Kalamkari
came from Telangana and is a skill found in women emphatically. The professors were  pleased that the
women knew their capabilities and found their own space by using a skill inherent to their region.

With a good number of handpainted sarees seen we wished to get into cotton sarees in Gurgaon which
were more needed for wearing in occasions like  arts exhibition, conferences and seminars. Bandini Sarees
has a range of cotton sarees in gurgaon with Lucknow Chikan is one of them , followed by Tangails and
Jamdanis of West Bengal and Dhaka . My friend ordered Bespoke Sarees in organic cotton saree forms .
Hearing on the use of natural dyes which has benefited the weavers largely as they find it remunerative to
continue weaving cotton sarees, she wished to extend her support and it is revenue alone that boosts them.
Bandini Sarees has Negamam cotton saris and Chettinaad Cotton Sarees . It is beautiful in its simplicity and,
we are told, the cloth get better with each wash. Other cotton sarees included Batik saris with thread border,
Gadwal sarees, and hand-printed cotton sarees . Having exhausted wallets , the group sat down in a
vajrasan mode to calculate and were happy to know that the money they spent was a kind of philanthropic
activity. It was almost 1 30 pm and the hostess wanted that they have lunch with her. While some left the
Professors decided to relish the meals of the day.

Texting a thank You message they said that  the visit to Bandini Sarees was  an impresson of a kind .
They did  not only own a piece of tradition; they stood silenty  for the upkeep of hundreds of families .
Their parting lines stood as a bell ringing in the ears of our hostess.  May the weavers tribe Increase, May
you that is the host serve more than they expect for the hands that work in any form are also the hands that
pay for the karma of the weavers.
