The mandate was given by the management that all the ladies
in the reception committee would have to wear Cotton Sarees of a particular
state a traditional style to be worn in the style of the state, also whilst the
Saree is cotton, the elegance and beauty should not be undermined. We have to
look spectacular we were told, and our saree must be matched with appropriate
blouse and accessories and we were to create a sense of awe amongst the
visiting foreign dignitaries. Representatives from different countries were
arriving in 15 days the invitation was from ministry of external affair and
ministry of foreign trade where cultural exchange program was to be launched
with all participating and interested countries. Also it was one of the pet
projects of the PMO. I was extremely fortunate and intensely
excited to be selected for this project and possibly this would also involve
several foreign trip.
All of us sat down to decide how we would go about planning and preparing for the events. As there would be cultural performance including singing and dancing and cooking exhibiting different regions of our country. We were all given the responsibilities of choosing our traditional attire and I was given state of West Bengal and I had to find Cotton Sarees in Gurgaon from Bengal Traditional Handloom Weavers and to go with that I needed CustomisedBlouse in Gurgaon to go well with the sarees.
We were wondering what to do as the normal saree stores in the Malls would not have such collection, so we asked a few people who could help us as the number of days were also few, we needed to act fast and get our merchandise on time.
One of my friend’s acquaintances referred her to check out with Bandini Sarees a small Boutique operated by a Passionate Saree Lover and Designer. We got her contact details and website! We called her up and asked to meet up with her. The owner of BandiniSarees, Somali is very passionate about her hobby and when we arrived at her boutique, she first opened her website and showed us the collections and the designs for the Blouses that would coordinate with the sarees. We were amazed to see that Bandini Sarees has traditional Handloom Cotton Sarees of practically every state of India.
I selected a beautiful Bengali Saree that gave the feeling of the Durga Puja Season particularly of the Sindoor Khela! Then Somali showedus a design for a blouse that should be aptly matching for the Saree, it was what she called the Kaushiki Limited Edition Blouse and perfect for the occasion. She also had a sample, her own piece and when I saw the real thing I could not move my eye off it, I selected my set and placed the order, the beauty of the purchase from Bandini Sarees was the experience with them about 4 days before the delivery I received a call from Bandini Sarees to come and check out the Blouse and if all was good and acceptable, I could take delivery.
Very excited and impatiently I went and was blown over when I saw the matching ensemble! I have ever since only shopped at Bandini Sarees and have all my blouses designed & created there. If you would like to contact them you can visit www.bandinisarees.com, assured delight, I can personally Guarantee.
