I am short movies producer and I was inspired by “Vidya Balan’’ in ‘’Tumhari Sulu’’’ after ‘the dirty picture’’ in which she performed the role of Smitha , south Indian mega star of her time by her acting obviously but mainly her sarees style. *Chanderi sarees*, *hand printed sarees* and other sarees wearing by Bollywood actress like veteran Rekha, Deepika, Priyanka Chopra and by others look so good and make a classic style statement.
Bollywood has a large influence on the fashion industry which is growing continuously, women are emulating these style statement in normal life also. Chanderi sarees are famous for it silk sarees and hand painted sarees like kalamkari are becoming more and more famous.
But now, the question is: how these sarees are made? I thought for a shoot on workers who made sarees. For this thought, I was suggested to look for Bandini Sarees which is a growing business of sarees in the field of e-commerce in India. Bandini has a good number of handloom workers in all parts of India, who are very creative and hard-working. The quality of their work is so mesmerising that one can not help but get inspired. What a great quality of fabric design they are promoting on their website. One would simply love it.
I am sharing an incident, one day I was browsing Bandini’s website , and my wife caught me and she found an excellent collection of sarees over there and demanded to buy 3 sarees. That is really good that one likes the product that they really want it to buy but for me it was a situation like a dent is going to be in my pocket… Hahaha LOL…!!! Never do this with your wife around. Just Kidding.
Collaborated with Bandini I completed shooting the documentary on handloom workers of Chanderi sarees and hand painted sarees in Gurgaon. It was a great success and simply praising ‘’bandini’’ for doing such a great step for making Indian handloom workers self-dependent.
